"I just purchased
a PPE (Picture Porter Elite) and I have to say it's one of the
best purchases I've made for my business in the past year. I have
a photography business--I mainly take photos of little kids' sports
teams--t ball, soccer, basketball, etc. One of the important things
to me about my business is that I show my customers examples of
their photos before they make their orders, so they know what
they are buying. This used to be a three step process--take photos
one day, return to the team with proof sheets another day, and
return with filled photo orders a third day. Now, with the PPE,
I have taken one entire step out of my process!
I can remove the compact flash card from my digital rebel, insert it
into my PPE, with a few quick clicks download all of the images, and
then pass around the viewer for the parents to all see their photos!
Then they can write down the image number to make their purchases. Of
the few teams I have done so far, they LOVE being able to see the photos
right there and not have to wait another week for proofs!
I am so glad I have made this purchase, and I would recommend it to
any photographer. I also have thousands and thousands of photos stored
on it, along with thousands of mp3s and a few dozen movies that my kids
like to watch. We are going to Disney World next week, and I know I
won't be able to use the PPE on the plane, because my kids will be using
it to watch movies. :)"

"I am a professional
photographer and had been looking for the best way to store memory
during long shoots. My memory cards fill quickly, and depending
on the subject, I sometimes shoot in both RAW and JPEG which fills
the cards even faster. I read many positive reviews about the
Picture Porter Elite online and decided to give it a try. I received
it just in time for a 3-day trip to photograph a reunion. The
Picture Porter was outstanding. I was able to transfer images
from my memory cards in just minutes throughout the trip, which
allowed me do what I was there for--take pictures. In addition,
the large LCD display allowed me to show my clients a preview
of the photographs they could order. They were thrilled to have
a chance to see them so quickly.
Upon returning home, I was happy to discover that transferring the images to the computer from the Picture Porter Elite is quicker and a more straightforward process than transferring directly from my camera.
I enthusiastically recommend this product! "

"My primary focus was simply to ensure ample photo storage with a product that was not limited in media options. The 100 gigabyte Picture Porter Elite satisfied my purpose with easy access and a simple backup while traveling. The audio and video recording capabilities, 3.6 inch screen, the choice to view photos with a histogram, a variety of music playing formats and the FM tuner are added bonuses I didn’t count on in my search.
The ability to be connected to a computer with a quick recognition structure (as a hard drive and removable media) allows access to files on media cards directly from the computer, and vice versa.
I contacted several competitors with storage questions. The Picture
Porter Elite accepts any size storage card while competitors’
units were often limited in media card capacity. Although accustomed
to the generic email responses usually received (e.g., .... do
not respond to this email, we will get back to you within x number
of days..), I was very impressed with the speed Digital Foci reps
responded, and fully answered my inquiries. The product quality
and these latter two points set Digital Foci apart from the competition.
I bought the Picture Porter Elite the same day.
Run, don't walk... to get this product and experience this company."

“"I have
been looking for a compact mass storage device compatible with
and able to display and store my Phase One P45 files while traveling.
At the PMA show in Orlando Florida earlier this year I tried
some P45 files on two well known portable storage disk devices.
These devices stored the files but were not able to display
the embedded jpegs or the RAW files. More recent inquiries
were largely ignored.
Another vendor I investigated, Digital Foci, offers their “Picture Porter Elite”. Upon my initial inquiry, they offered to have me upload a P45 file to their server which they then put on a CF Card and loaded this to the Picture Porter Elite. I was advised that the Elite displayed the jpeg, the histogram, and EXIF data and stored the file. They then uploaded the stored file from the Elite to their server and asked me to download it to my PC to insure file integrity. I downloaded the file and found no differences. All this was accomplished overnight! Great service and immediate follow through. I placed the order.
I must say that the product is an elegant compact unit, well
packaged and includes some of the best documentation I have
seen. It was easy to learn and I had it operating in minutes.
I highly recommend the Picture Porter Elite and, if you are
using the Phase One P45, it is a must."

"As an early user
of the Picture Porter Elite, I have to say I am extremely satisfied
with this product. I compared all the similar products in the
market before I bought it. None of them meets my need except the
Picture Porter Elite. The huge 80G storage holds all my digital
pictures plus music and movies.
To manage the files on the device is very easy that it is operated as an external hard drive. It is not just my personal media player when I fly between US and Asia, it is also my digital image storage. I recently took it to my Tibet trip. The 2300mAh battery made this product even more amazing. I rarely needed to recharge it during my whole 8 days trip. With the Picture Porter Elite, I did not have to bring my laptop and I still could manage all my digital pictures that I took, which made me feel much easier and safer during the trip.
Digital Foci's customer support is another thing I have to mention.
All my questions I asked, they always gave me quick and accurate
responses. That is another reason why I highly recommend their
products. It is not just a great product, they also provide a
great service."

"I bought the Picture Porter Elite for two reasons. One for downloading memory cards while on vacation, so I don't have to carry a laptop. My vacations are exciting and exotic and I don't want to take a chance on losing our pictures. The current trip was to Barcelona, Marseille, Rome, Naples, Malta and Mallorca. I have CF and Memory stick and it worked perfectly. Last vacation was Bali, Indonesia, and could have used it there!
I also have a lipstick video camera I use for helmet cams while Skiing, Windsurfing and Mtn Biking. This works great. I have replaced another product that did not have memory card capabilities.
Great product!"

"When I first read about the Digital Foci Picture Porter Elite, I thought this is what I have been waiting for. I tried to get it in time for my trip to Africa – but it was not to be. The trip was awesome and the photography opportunities abounded. I lugged my laptop along and my high speed USB card reader (I needed several different memory cards). I backed-up my cards every night. The process was slow and tedious. Three weeks after we returned I got the email the Picture Porter Elite was available.
I ordered the 80 GB unit, and every accessory offered. I was really excited! Rarely have my expectations been exceeded, but they surely have been with the Picture Porter Elite. The image quality is outstanding and the download time is very quick. I have enough memory to back-up my photos while traveling and I can edit them in the evening. I can watch the photos of the day in the motel with musical accompaniment. I can use the time to review and edit programs. I can watch the movies and listen to the music I like. All of this, with a unit which is smaller than my camera and lighter than the power supply of my Laptop.
Lastly, the use and set-up is very simple and intuitive. The instructions are excellent. I cannot comment on the support, because I have not needed it!"

"I have a similar product from a competitor that I'm not entirely happy with. The Picture Porter Elite 100GB is a little smaller and a little lighter yet it's faster at copying my memory cards, it has more disk drive capacity and the user interface is more intuitive. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
In a few weeks I'll be heading off for a 10 day trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. I'll be carrying three cameras with three different kinds of memory cards. The Picture Porter Elite gives me the capacity I need to store all of my images and it lets me share them (including the RAW images) with my traveling companions. It would surprise me if you don't see a spike in orders around the time I get back from my trip."

"My experience with the Digital Foci Image Moments digital picture frame has been great! It actually has allowed me and my family to share photos with my mother since she does not have a computer. Now all we have to do is send her memory cards and she can now see her Grandchildren's pictures, with some nice background music from the mp3s I put on the memory card. :) My mom loves this product. The large screen and the ease of use. She raves about it every time I talk with her.
THANKS Digital Foci!!"

"After researching the internet for a week, I decided to purchase the Image Moments digital picture frame for my boyfriend's Christmas present. I put together a slideshow from our childhood to now, and the mp3s added a special touch. He absolutely loves it and watches it every day! It's so easy to use and now we can view all our memories at the flip of a switch. I did have a few questions regarding the product and its features, and their Tech Support was extremely helpful and quick to respond. Thanks Digital Foci for making this experience a memorable one!"

"I
was in the market for a portable digital storage device for
transferring my images to during extended photographic field
work in wilderness and other extremely remote locations. Although
there are many to choose from all were large and bulky, albeit
with some very nice features. I really needed something small,
compact, lightweight, and easy to use. My local professional
camera technicians suggested trying Digital Foci's Photo Safe
device. I ordered a 120 GB Photo Safe and unfortunately, the
battery was defective. Oh no, PANIC! I sent an email right away
to Digital Foci's customer support wherein I explained my dilemma
and expected to receive the typical mumbo jumbo that I usually
get from various companies. Thankfully (and I mean extremely
thankfully) I received a reply the next morning. Understanding
my impending departure they immediately set in motion sending
me a new (and fully tested) device while I returned to them
the one I had. (Pretty darn trusting if you ask me.) The new
device arrived in a few days […and] worked perfectly.
During my expedition I loaded up many cards with ease and even
faster than the documentation stipulated. I was able to consistently
copy a fully loaded 8 gig Extreme IV card in just 23 minutes
using the Photo Safe in battery mode. All files always successfully
copied and displayed as documented in the user guide. Once I
arrived at home, all the images were there and easily, quickly
loaded to my computer. It really couldn't be simpler. Next month
I head to Europe for three weeks and will probably nearly fill
the device, and you can bet I'll be singing its praises all
the way there and back!
Although the original device had a problem I recognize that
sometimes that can happen. What impressed me the most (and I'm
still amazed and thankful to Digital Foci) was their quick reply,
personal touch, quick to offer a great solution, and standing
by their product. In today's world it’s really rare to
find a company that truly is CUSTOMER FOCUSED. Many claim it,
and many more say they have earned prestigious recognition for
it but few of their customers would agree. Digital Foci is one
that deserves these sorts of awards and accolades!"

"
A company named Digital Foci, has come to my rescue with a product
they call ‘Photo Safe’. The SD memory card in the
camera has definite limits. Purchasing many more cards and keeping
track of them is not an acceptable option. When I saw the write-up
about this device in a magazine, I nearly fainted – a
single purpose device! It’s a very small hard dive that
runs on an internal battery, has slots for most kinds of popular
camera memory cards and has only tow buttons!! Perfect for storing
pictures until I get home….
The operation is simplicity itself. Hold down the Power button for three
seconds to fire it up. Plug in the picture card and press the Enter
button. The Safe automatically offloads everything on the card with
a running display of the percent completion. When I get home I plug
it into a USB port and it lights up without any button pushing. It receives
sufficient power from the USB port and does not rely on its internal
battery….
Bottom line: I love it! It solved my problem for taking too many pictures
on a trip and it solves it simply. I cannot overemphasize how important
“simply” is.

"When
traveling, I used to kluge together an [...brand of hard drive
based music player...] and an after-market card reader to attempt
to backup my memory cards. Usually, the [...device...] would
run out of power before one card could finish loading, so I
had to only partially fill my cards in order to be able to back
them up onto my [..device...].
I wanted a device that did only one thing -- back up my cards
-- and not surf the web, play miniature videos, etc. I read
about Photo Safe and ordered one before I left on a recent trip.
On the trip I fried a CF card containing photos while using
the old kluged system. My Photo Safe was waiting for me when
I returned home. As a test, I loaded 3 SD cards and a CF card
into my Photo Safe before I even looked at their contents. The
memory cards loaded onto the Photo Safe with 2 button presses
(counting the "Power" button). I checked the number
of files (NEF, RAW, JPG, and AVI) on the cards and on the Photo
Safe. They were the same. Loading the files onto my computer
was just as easy. My computer recognized the Photo Safe as another
hard drive so I could just copy the data to my computer's hard
drive using one "copy" command. Photo Safe kept each
card's data in its own subdirectory so this created matching
subdirectories on my computer. This occurred quickly, much more
quickly than reading a card into my computer using a card reader.
I didn't expect the Photo Safe to handle a new 4 GB SDHC card
since in the past I had to use special software to read it.
The Photo Safe read it as easily as it read my 1 and 2 GB cards
-- and it transferred the data to my computer as easily. I am
VERY pleased with my purchase and Digital Foci's fast service.
Download the PDF documentation and see that the device has no
"surprises." It works just as advertised and it works quickly."

"I purchased a Media Buddy for my honeymoon vacation after extensive research on the internet. I found the Media Buddy had the size, storage capacity and price range I was looking for as well as the versatility of cards used with it. I used my Media Buddy extensively for several weeks while in the remote country side of northern Thailand, so I can testify to its ruggedness and ability to weather the elements and elephants as the case was for me. I used it to store over 2000 hi resolution images from our honeymoon.
Upon my return I was very pleased with its speed of file transfer, I was able to download the files to my home computer in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately during transfers of another file, I came across a minor technical difficulty and contacted Digital Foci for advice on the matter. They were exceptiona, and fixed the problem quickly. I continue to use the Media Buddy regularly for short and long haul photographic excursions without fail.
I would wholeheartedly recommended Digital Foci to anyone looking at a portable data storage device for the quality of their products, the very affordable pricing and their exceptional customer service. They have very much impressed me with every aspect of their company and products."

"I bought the Media Buddy because I wanted a device that would help me to free my memory cards while traveling, without having to carry my laptop along and seeking good price and good quality both of which were completely fulfilled by the MEDIA BUDDY. It works great and is very easy to use: a wonderful help! It also has a very nice design AND works great as a mp3 player! Can't ask for more!"

"I purchased the Digital Foci Media Buddy so that I would be able to offload files from my digital camera CF cards, allowing me to recover space on full CF cards while on extended travels without need for carrying my laptop along. The user interface is very simple and quite intuitive. Data transfer is rapid, transferring 55MB in 58 JPEG files in less than 1m40s! This is an economical alternative to data backup units with integrated video playback. For added security, you can easily copy data multiple times onto the Media Buddy, with each transfer occupying a new folder for data redundancy. An added plus is the Media Buddy's ability to serve as a memory-to-USB direct reader."

"I bought a DataPocket after my laptop died and I had only partially backed up my data. I wanted something compact and easy. The software was a great bonus and is much better than my old method of manually backing up. My larger hard drive is at least double the size and it did not come with software or a case. I really like DataPocket because it's small and convenient. Also I can use in with my mac and pc - something that my other hard drive promised to do but doesn't."

"The Picture Porter worked great. I travel with numerous digital cameras and of course, they all seem to take different types of cards. Between my Nikon D70, my DX3100 (underwater), my CoolPix 5000, my husband's Radio Shack credit card size camera, our friends Kodak digital, the Picture Porter worked great and no one ever had to worry about not having enough memory.
At the end of the trip everyone handed me their memory cards, which I downloaded onto the Picture Porter, and we had a 'slide show' of all our combined pictures on the TV. Once we arrived home, it just took me a matter of minutes to create a cd on my computer of everyone's pictures for each family to enjoy.
I'm glad I was able to find the Picture Porter and it lived up to my expectations."

“I bought the Picture Porter for my mother-in-law. She loves her digital camera but is 'afraid' to download anything to the computer. The Picture Porter gives her the freedom she needs to store her photos until she's ready to print them. Also, Picture Porter is the only product of its kind that we found that would allow you to move things back onto the memory stick. So she could take the memory stick and put it in her photo printer that is also not connected to the computer. That's what makes it so great! She can take all the pictures she wants, print all the pictures she wants and doesn't have to even turn on the computer. Being an avid scrapbooker, she loves it. It's easy to use and convenient. We've been waiting for a product like this to come along for a while. We're glad it did!”

"As soon as I saw the Picture Porter on the web, I knew this was exactly what I needed. My wife and I travel as much as we can and we both use digital cameras, hers being a point and shoot, mine a digital SLR. I am stuck having to take along my laptop to empty out the memory cards. The Picture Porter allows me to work with all the cards I use and a lot more.
I charged up the Picture Porter before leaving for a week long cruise, I emptied my memory cards many times throughout the week. We were then stuck in Miami during ‘Hurricane Wilma”, having no power and not having charged the Picture Porter up since leaving home, it still was able to empty out my memory cards allowing me to get many photos of the hurricane and aftermath.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with the Picture Porter and would recommend it to anyone, and I have not even explored its other capabilities.”

“I finally purchased a Picture Porter after searching for 2 weeks comparing and reviewing many different brands, makes and models. The Picture Porter is an awesome device. It does exactly what all the specs and advertisements claim.
I am constantly in the car (which is now my rolling office) and the digital pictures I take can immediately get to the needed destination for who I must distribute the photos to. It doesn't matter what media they need the digital stills on, as I can transfer to laptop-burn a disk, copy to a zip or onto any card format. Having a good sized drive in the Picture Porter allows me to go between my home office and work office backing up any new pictures or files. My recent trip from NJ to Las Vegas allowed for non interruption of charging as I purchased the optional car power adapter/battery charger......Plus I have over 200 songs/MP3s loaded which works very well as a substitute for my iPod.
Two months now and so far, so good. Great folks at Digital Foci as they answered all my indepth technical questions prior to my purchase and treated me as if I already purchased it. Highly recommended!”
